Exposed Aggregate Concrete

What is exposed aggregate? This is concrete with the smooth top layer of cement washed off just before the drying process is completed. There is a selection of exposure depths in that it can be left as an excellent non-slip surface or it can be partly sanded to retain the non-slip but making it less coarse to walk on or it can be sanded smooth and polished once the drying process is completed.

There are options to have various colour tones by selecting the type of stone used in the mix together with an option to colour the mix before pouring. Exposed aggregate is an ideal surface for sloping driveways and pathways as well as pool areas where a non-slip surface is preferred.

The finished appearance of exposed aggregate is generally left more natural and as such, it fits perfectly into the surrounding landscape. Another great thing about this option is the low maintenance required.
